studentartshow-2024-ig.pngThe L&C Art Department is proud to present the 19th Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition, April 5-27, 2024, in the Hatheway Cultural Center Gallery.

An opening reception will take place from 4-6 p.m., April 5. Join us in celebration of our student artists.

Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Eligibility

All 2-D and 3-D works made by LC students enrolled in Art studio courses during the Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 semesters. All work must be completed as part of class requirements for those courses taken at L&C. Students are limited to 3 submissions in any particular course/media (Painting, Drawing, Figure Drawing, Basic Design I and II, Ceramics, 3D Design, Film Photography, and Graphic Design).

Sales will be encouraged, so students should carefully consider artwork prices. Please include an insurance value for your artwork.

Calendar

  • March 21 - All entries must be submitted to the listed locations by 3 p.m.
  • March 25 - The accepted works list will be posted in Wade and Trimpe.
  • March 28 – All accepted artwork must be delivered to Hatheway Gallery by 4 p.m.
  • April 5 – Opening Reception, 4 – 6 p.m..
  • April 29/30 - All work displayed during the exhibit must be picked up between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on the 29th & from noon-3 p.m. on the 30th. Work not picked up by these times will be subject to disposal.

Rules for Entry

  • 2D work must be framed with wire attached. Do not use tape. Leave a 2” space from the wire to the top of the frame. NO saw-tooth hangers, D-rings, keyhole mounts or tacks.
  • All paintings must be completely dry for exhibition.
  • Wall-hung 3D art must be installation-ready with attached wire, & mounts.
  • All other 3D art must be stable and pedestal-ready.
  • No ceiling displayed works.
  • No installation works.
  • All accepted artwork must be delivered to Hatheway Gallery no later than 4 p.m. on March 28.
  • Affix two copies of the entry form.
  • We do not exhibit works that don’t meet these requirements.
  • Students must pick up artwork on April 29, between 1-3:30 p.m. and April 30, between noon-3 p.m.
  • Carefully consider the presentation of your work. Consult your instructor(s) for help.

Prizes (anticipated) 

  • Up to $600 in cash prizes and awards will be presented to art students at the opening reception on Friday, April 5.
  • $250 - 1st Place Purchase Award
  • $125 - 2nd Place Cash Award
  • $75 - 3rd Place Cash Award
  • Three Honorable Mention Awards - $50 Gift Cards for Art Materials from Dick Blick, Inc.
