With the growing need for skilled help in pharmacies across the nation, trained pharmacy technicians are in high demand. Prepare yourself for a rewarding career and earn your certificate in only one semester.

Many courses in this 17-credit-hour program are available in a blendflex format, which allows students to attend courses in-person or virtually, and in some cases, work through the courses on their own.

L&C’s Pharmacy Technician program will prepare individuals for entry-level employment in hospitals and retail facilities.

With the changing role of the pharmacist and the evolution of the national healthcare services, the demand for more educated and trained pharmacy technicians to assist pharmacists in the preparation of prescriptions has increased.

Technicians handle drug preparation, under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, as well as other duties, which may include interpreting prescription orders, maintaining patient records, packaging and labeling medications, maintaining drug supply, inventory, billing and crediting patients, handling automation, compounding medications, preparing sterile products and performing computer entries.

To provide our students with a complete learning experience, Lewis and Clark has partnered with PioneerRx Pharmacy Software, the top program chosen by independent pharmacists. The software is equipped with powerful tools that will prepare students to graduate with a robust set of skills. Learn more about this industry-leading pharmacy system at https://www.pioneerrx.com/.
