The Illinois Open Meetings Act (OMA) is designed to ensure that the public has access to information about government and its decision-making process.
In compliance with this act, L&C posts a calendar at the President’s Office and on our website identifying regularly scheduled Board of Trustees meetings. The calendar identifies the dates, times and location of the meetings. If a meeting is rescheduled or if a special meeting is held, special notifications are made in compliance with the law. An agenda is also is posted at the President’s Office and on our website at least 48 hours in advance of each Board of Trustees meeting. Board of Trustee meetings (except executive sessions for statutorily defined purposes) are open to the public and members of the public in attendance are given an opportunity to speak. Minutes of each Board of Trustees meeting open to the public are published for public inspection at the President’s Office and on our website within 7 days after the minutes are approved by the Board.
